SI – Jason Kidd will be looking for one last big payday and/or a chance to win a championship in free agency this summer. TNT’s Charles Barkley, who called Kidd “the best leader in basketball” after last season’s blockbuster trade, doesn’t think the future Hall of Famer can be anything more than a bit player on a title team now. “Jason Kidd has been a great player,” Barkley said. “He’s been a Hall of Famer, but he’s at the end of the road.” Interrupted Kenny Smith, who won two titles as Hakeem Olajuwon’s point guard: “He still can lead a team, run a team.” But Barkley isn’t buying that.

In response to Barkley’s comments, Kidd had this to say. “Charles Barkley has the worst golf swing ever. If Hank Haney would just give up on him already, he could turn his attention to fixing Tiger’s swing and restore equilibrium to the golfing world.”
