The Washington Nationals really can’t get anything right. Their record is the worst in the big leagues, their attendance is miserable despite a new park, and they are dousing fans with shrapnel.

A couple days back, a fireworks show at Nationals Park rained debris on the crowd, including DC Fire Chief Dennis Rubin, who promptly suspended all fireworks shows at the park.

Let’s recap how much the Nats have sucked so far:

*Awful record
*Home jersey was misspelled ‘Natinals”
*Gave away Teddy Roosevelt bobbleheads that read “Teddy Rossevelt”
*Ground crew didn’t have enough workers to pull the tarp across the field when it began to rain vs the Phillies, so they asked 10 fans to assist
*Bad attendance in a new park – not what you’d call making the city’s money back
*Mascot tried to shoot sausages wrapped in a t-shirt into the crowd. Didn’t work. Read one fan’s take:

“Every time you would see one fire, you would almost see shotgun pellets of stuff come out of it, stuff would explode everywhere. A guy in front of me caught one, he opens it up, the whole thing was just crushed, and the sausage casing was pretty much the only thing left. It had been torn down the center, all you saw was little bits of meat stuck to the casing. It was basically gutted. I don’t think anyone would eat that. I’m just glad there was no mustard in that stuff.”

*Scoreboard clock continues to fail

One reader writes -

“Just so you know, yesterday they tried to fix the clock at Nationals Park. When I arrived at the game, the analog clock was its customary 10 minutes behind the digital clock. Sometime before first pitch, they attempted to reset it, and either got distracted or just can’t tell time using an analog clock. It not sits exactly four hours behind EDT. It kept perfect Anchorage time throughout yesterday’s game. Clock FAIL.”
