I turn on the TV last night curious to see some action in the Pats-Bengals game. The Bengals kicker is lined up to take an extra point, which looks ordinary enough. Thoughts then process in the following order:

Shayne Graham is white right?

Why is that man wearing Chad Johnson’s number?

Wait, isn’t his name OchoCinco now?

Hold up, Chad OchoCinco is kicking the extra point. What is going on?

Is this a reality show?

Holy crap, he drilled it and it looked legit. WTF is going on?

Then the announcers chimed in and explained that Graham had hurt his groin and that 85 was going to fill in since he had kicking experience in the past and was an avid soccer fan. Pretty cool though.

Do you think Chad regrets changing his name? It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but that has to have worn off by now. Then again, Johnson is a common name and he may have been sick of having such a “stock last name”. Similar to Jesse James’ “Why drive a stock body?” remark regarding his tattoos, “Why have a stock last name?”
