Baseball’s top-rated prospect hits the big leagues today when slugging catcher Matt Wieters joins the Baltimore Orioles. Wieters, often referred to as “Joe Mauer with power”, is being tagged as the man to turn the struggling Orioles around and end their streak of 12 losing seasons.

Just a few of Orioles fans quotes:

“Matt Wieters Will Be The Reason In 2010 MLB Instates A Mercy Rule. ”

“When Matt Wieters Makes His Major League Debut At Camden Yards, The Standing Ovation He Receives Will Be So Loud That Hearing People Will Go Deaf, Deaf People Will Go Blind, Blind People Will Become Fully Paralyzed, And All Other Life Forms Will Cease To Exist.”

“When A Player Hits 10 Home Runs In A Game, He Will Refer To Himself As “Pulling A Wieters”.”

“Matt Wieters Went The Wrong Way After Bunting, Ran 26,000 Miles, And Beat The Throw To First.”

When asked about these lofty expectations, Wieters responded, “Oh F*ck, what did I get myself into…”

We at JockJoose love the Orioles and are very excited.
