She is on a little tear though and at #70 in the world, she is the second highest ranked American woman left in the US Open behind Serena (#2). She has already beaten #4 Dementieva, Maria Sharapova (hot! hot!), and Petrova. Yes we don’t know who Dementieva or Petrova are and we don’t care to know.
So you go Melanie and keep on winning and make America proud. You may look like a little goblin sometimes when you run for the ball and try to hit it as hard as your little body will allow you, but dammit we appreciate your good old American effort.
Speaking of American effort, we don’t appreciate yours Andy Roddick. Stop losing early. Winning that one US Open has ruined your career as you will never replicate that success. Good match at Wimbledon though.
