Yankee Stadium: piece of crap

June 3rd, 2009 by why be athletic | Posted in baseball | 66 views

Everyone is hitting homeruns in the new Yankee Stadium. Routine fly balls are now heading into the right field seats. Pretty sure David Ortiz could even go deep there at this point. Well, that may be pushing it.

Coors field currently holds the record for most home runs hit in a park in a season with 303. Slightly more than a quarter of the way through the season, 87 have been hit in Yankee Stadium. That is absurd, especially given the fact that A-Roid has been missing most of the season and Teixeira took a while to get going.

Apparently, there is a Canadian company, RWDI, who are experts in figuring this type of stuff out before 1.5 billion is poured into a stadium. They obviously didn’t do a good job and aren’t afraid to admit it.

“We didn’t do a terribly elaborate one,” an RWDI spokesman said referring to their assessment of the now-evident wind tunnel towards right field.

Who the f— ran this operation? This is going to ruin baseball there. Not that we at JockJoose care, given we hate the Yankees, but still. Homeruns are cool….until too many are hit. Then we are desensitized to them. We want bombs, not fly balls that inexplicably make their way over the right field wall.

That’s a lot of balls getting smacked around. Ortiz is my step dad. I like sports.
